Make your next long weekend about visiting architectural marvels in Halebeedu. It’s the other capital of the Hoysala dynasty. This tourist destination witnesses visitors from around the world for the magnificent Hoysaleswara Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is surrounded by ponds, lakes and mantapas. The carvings of the thousand figures on the wall of the temple are stories of Ramayana & Mahabharata. A museum of the Archaeological Department is within the complex and the Parshwanatha Basadi with its polished pillars is close by.
Hotel Mayura Shantala Halebeedu is located almost next door to the temple and is ideal for those who want to embrace the beauty of Hindu architecture. The hotel is quite compact with 3 AC double bed rooms and 1 four bed room. There’s a restaurant that brings the delicacy of Karnataka under one roof.
